mawhwhwhwhwhwha

It can be really hard to win sometimes. Here both my opponents are, to be charitable, idiots. rareform1 has specialised in doubling up other players by calling shoves with draws and bottom pair.

PokerStars Game #27870175414: Tournament #161356919, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level V (75/150) - 2009/05/05 22:51:25 ET
Table '161356919 1' 9-max Seat #8 is the button
Seat 3: Sexytim (5335 in chips)
Seat 8: rareform1 (4822 in chips)
Seat 9: FR Vessant (3343 in chips)
FR Vessant: posts small blind 75
Sexytim: posts big blind 150
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to FR Vessant [9c 9s]
rareform1: raises 300 to 450

Has been raising a ton.

FR Vessant: raises 750 to 1200

Hope to get it in at some point.

Sexytim: folds
rareform1: calls 750
*** FLOP *** [4d 3d 2c]

Nice.

FR Vessant: bets 2143 and is all-in
rareform1: calls 2143

He has QJ. Obviously his call of my reraise pre was awful and so is this one.

*** TURN *** [4d 3d 2c] [6s]

OMG. Please don't let a 5 come on the river.

*** RIVER *** [4d 3d 2c 6s] [5c]

Shit.

Literally the next hand:

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to FR Vessant [As Kc]
FR Vessant: raises 300 to 450

Standard raise.

Sexytim: folds
rareform1: raises 4447 to 4897 and is all-in

He probably has a hand, but there's no way I'm folding.

FR Vessant: calls 2968 and is all-in

He has 66.
Uncalled bet (1479) returned to rareform1
*** FLOP *** [Qs 6h 4h]
*** TURN *** [Qs 6h 4h] [2s]
FR Vessant said, "sigh"
*** RIVER *** [Qs 6h 4h 2s] [6s]

Yes, quite.

Anyway, next tourney.

PokerStars Game #27870561326: Tournament #161356976, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level VI (100/200) - 2009/05/05 23:06:13 ET
Table '161356976 1' 9-max Seat #5 is the button
Seat 4: FR Vessant (3228 in chips)
Seat 5: Popeye3407 (10272 in chips)

Has been terrible all game but the poker gods have showered their love on him at every opportunity.

Popeye3407: posts small blind 100
FR Vessant: posts big blind 200
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to FR Vessant [Kc Ac]
Popeye3407: raises 400 to 600
FR Vessant: raises 2628 to 3228 and is all-in

No point fucking around.

Popeye3407: calls 2628

He has QJ. (Note that it's QJ again!) Obviously his call is atrocious. He cannot think he's ahead: I've been playing pretty tight all game.

*** FLOP *** [9s Jd As]

Nice. Bit worried about his hitting a pair though, because he can now suck out to two pair.

*** TURN *** [9s Jd As] [Kh]

OMG. I'm not liking the possibility of the straight though...

*** RIVER *** [9s Jd As Kh] [Tc]

You have to keep telling yourself you want to be called by worse hands and that this does make you money, but the evidence sometimes seems scarce. Last night I was playing a $10 MTT. It hadn't been going all that well, but I was still in there. I picked up AQ in the cut off. Three players limped. This is at t250 and I had 4K. So I shoved to try to pick up a nice chunk to add to my stack.

The SB tanks. I'm sweating. Is he agonising over calling with a pair of tens or something? Well, he calls, and it's K7s. What. The. Fuck. One of the limpers also calls. He has decided that AJ is going to be ahead of a shove and a call.

In a just world, I win the pot obviously, but in this one, there's a K on the flop and a 7 on the river.
