Because some fucking retard is liable to call my shove with a bare flush draw, making me a huge favourite.

Haha, that was me who sucked out on you.

I randomly did a google search for my stars account name to see if any hands I played landed in any posts anywhere on the web.

I vaguely remember that hand. I think I was in one of those stubborn moods and your shove just rubbed me the wrong way, so I gambled. It happens.

TPTK isn't the nuts you know, if I'd had a lower pair or str8 draw to go along with the flush draw, I easily would have had the correct odds to call. How could you be so sure you were as far ahead as you now know you were only with the benefit of hindsight?

While I can't defend my play statistically, it wasn't as bad as you suggest. I had a 38% chance of winning, and I really needed 43% to get the correct pot odds for calling your shove. I'd also like to think that I got extra implied odds by getting a big stack early that I could use to my advantage. In fact, I did finish 2nd in this particular SNG.

1. Your play was atrocious from go to woah. Calling the raise is terrible with Q9s. Just fold that shit, bro. Even if the other guy had just limped, you should just fold.
2. Calling on the flop is bad. Just fold. You don't have the odds to draw to a flush, and the K is likely to have hit his range. I noted that it was bad in my post, and at the time, I put you solidly on what you actually had. You're pretty unlikely to have a pair plus FD, because there aren't many 6s in the range even of a player as bad as you. If you are calling raises with 54s, I advise you to stop. I certainly don't give that much weight when I think about what you have.
3. You do not consider whether to call by pot odds alone. That's a fundamental mistake in an STT. Also, a flush is a 35% to come in, which is about 1.86 to 1. You got 1.3 to 1, only because of your original bad call, which bloated the pot. If you keep calling bets at those odds, you will continue to lose money in STTs.
4. You cannot count on increasing your EV enough with a big stack to make up for the equity you are losing by taking bad bets, if for no other reason, then because you will mostly piss your stack away by making more bad plays. Most bad players who get a big stack proceed to play too loosely, raising with too wide a range and calling because they feel they have enough cushion. This time you got lucky, but over your time playing STTs, you will just lose money.
5. TPTK is, in fact, the nuts when you're playing bad players. I'll gladly get it in with you when you have that much the worst of it every time I have AK and hit a king.

Yeah, calling a raise pre-flop, in position, with suited-connector-ish hands is craaaazzy, nobody ever does that and wins!

Guys like you kill me. You get mad if people play anything but premium hands against you. Why don't I just play my cards face up against you next time, would that make you happy? The game would be too easy if everyone played the way you wanted them to play.

I didn't say I played the hand great, but you're not as smart as you think you are.

I say again, it's awful easy to say TPTK is the nuts with benefit of hindsight. Another fact is, a stout preflop re-raise from you would have pushed me out and you would have taken the pot.

You obviously need to get whacked with more 2 and 3 outers on the river if you're this bent out of shape over a 9-outer.

Hoping you'll someday see the forest through the trees . . .

The reason you will not win money in STTs is that you "call raises in position" with suited connector"ish" hands.

Dude, you got all your money in with a bare flush draw. I'm delighted you did it. You seem to be making the mistake of thinking that upsets me. Wrong. I'm delighted about your call. As long as fish like you make terrible calls, poker will remain profitable.

BTW, flatcalling with AK is preferable in that spot. I don't want to fold out Q9s. That you think I would want to shows what you know about poker.

Well, you know how to find me on Stars. Come take my money. I look forward to it.

Sadly, you'll find it a lot less enjoyable than you think. I'm not really into dicksizing with donks. I just play the best I know and the money flows from bad to good eventually.
